Packers‘ All Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari has been rule out not just for Week One but more. Bakhtiari tore his ACL back in December last season. Since returning to camp, he was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

But now recent reports suggest that the anchor of the Packers O-line will be missing for a longer extended period.
Green Bay Packers dealt heavy blow
As per NFL insider Ian Rapoport’s tweet, Bakhtiari will remain on the physically unable to perform list till alteast six more weeks. This means that Bakhtiari though won’t be counted on the Packers’ 53-man roster.

Bakhtiari’s absence will see the franchise without his services for big games against the Chicago Bears, Saints and 49ers to names a few. He was unable to take a physical which would put him on injured reserve, and thus will now be on reserve PUP list.

Without Bakhtiari, the Green Bay Packers faltered big time in the NFC title game last season. While the exact period of Bakhtiari’s absence is not known, Packers fans will hope the sooner the better.
