Latest Update on Deshaun Watson Suspension: QB Avoids Legal Trouble Despite Another Suit Filed Against Him

Another woman has accused Cleveland Browns quarterback, Deshaun Watson of misconduct. The incident happened two years ago. However, the suspended QB’s status with the NFL has not been affected by the new lawsuit, the league added. The latest lawsuit does not affect Watson’s standing, said NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy.
Watson is currently serving a suspension for several misconduct allegations against him. The suspension is for 11 games. Around 24 women previously alleged he has done inappropriate behavior during massage therapy sessions. This happened when he was a part of the Texans.

More setback for Deshaun Watson?
According to the new complaint, Watson pressured a woman to perform inappropriate acts after a massage. This incident happened in 2020, as per the lawsuit filed by the woman in Texas. Previously, the 27-year-old QB resolved 23 of the 24 lawsuits filed against him.
The NFL will monitor the developments of the new complaint. They will decide on the next course of action in line with the Personal Conduct Policy. Earlier, Watson was given the ban, a $5 million fine, alongside treatment and counseling for his conduct. The Browns traded Watson in 2022, March. They signed him to a five-year contract worth $240 million.

The three-time Pro Bowler made a return to training this week. This was the first time after his suspension began on August 30. Meanwhile, NFL analysts and hosts, including Pat McAfee, had asked for stricter punishment for the QB.

Restrictions remain in force as Watson eyes a return
As per the ban, Watson is not allowed to practice till November 14. Kevin Stefanski and his men are ranked number two in the AFC North Division. They lost against the Falcons and Chargers in the last two games. The Browns meet the Ravens next and will look to get back into winning ways.

The Georgia-born is allowed to attend meetings with the Browns and perform workouts. However, he needs to fulfill the settlement conditions with the league for a return. The extension of his suspension is till November 28. It would mean Watson is eligible to play from December 4. As a result, it remains to be seen whether he will get an immediate chance.
