It’s been a topsy-turvy offseason for Dallas Cowboys’ star quarterback Dak Prescott. He had mixed bag of results with the Cowboys last season. Post the conclusion of the season, Prescott was hit with a major shocker after one of his elder brothers, Jace Prescott, passed away. The team confirmed that news is an official statement on April 24, 2020. The cause of death was not made public. This was the second loved one who passed away in Prescott’s family. He earlier lost his mom, Peggy, to colon cancer back in 2013.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup addressed this incident at a recent press meet. Just like Prescott, Gallup too lost a brother in 2018. He spoke about how he consoled his teammate when he heard the news back in April.

Michael Gallup offers his support to teammate Dak Prescott

As mentioned in the short clip above, Gallup did as much as he could to console Prescott when the news broke. Losing a loved one is never easy but it helps to have friends around at such a time of mourning. Gallup did what any teammate would have done in order to comfort a member on the roster.

Gallup’s own brother, Andrew Gallup, tragically died by suicide in 2018. This is what then-coach Jason Garrett said on the matter.

“We just found out after the ballgame that his brother had committed suicide and just wanted to leave it at that. Obviously a very personal matter. We’re all behind Michael and supporting him and his family, and this is a very challenging time for him. We’ll take it moment by moment, day by day and give him all of our love and all of our support,” Garrett told 105.3 The Fan Monday via Star-Telegram.

Gallup, along with Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb are tipped for a stellar season with the Cowboys. New head coach Mike McCarthy seems to have taken a liking towards Gallup and Ezekiel Elliott. It will be interesting to see these five stars combine as the Cowboys prepare for the 2020 season.
