Joe Burrow entered the NFL 2020 draft class as one of the hottest prospects on the list. Without a doubt, it was obvious that Cincinnati Bengals would utilize their firs-pick on the National Championship winning quarterback. That’s exactly what they did. The former LSU man put pen to paper of his four-year rookie deal with the Bengals on Tuesday.
Burrow is set to earn $36.1 million over the next four seasons in the NFL. However, there are some critics who believe that the 2020 Heisman Trophy winner is a bit overrated. Former Buffalo Bills and Carolina Panthers GM – Bill Polian – had claimed that Burrow and Co. will have a tough offseason due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, Kansas City Chiefs’ safety Tyrann Mathieu rose to the youngster’s defense with this message on social media.

Tyrann, who was criticized by Polian in the past, posted a tweet in support of Burrow on Tuesday. The Super Bowl LIV winner also made sure to point out that he proved Polian wrong over the last few years as well. Mathieu served as captain for all three teams that he’s played for in the NFL. He is also one of the most well-paid players at the safety position in the league. ‘The Honey Badger’ penned a three-year, $42 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs last year.
