Could JuJu Smith-Schuster be on his way out of Pittsburgh? The Steelers’ wide-receiver is a free-agent this season and given the Steelers’ constraints with the salary cap, they could allow JuJu to walk for free.

This comes off the back of the Jets signing Corey Davis on a 3-year contract. But the wide receiver position needs further strengthening, and JuJu could be exactly what the Jets need, especially given how much cap flexibility they have.

Smith-Schuster had a decent outing with the Pittsburgh Steelers last season. He put up solid numbers in the Steel City, recording 26 touchdowns and 308 catches.

Furthermore, he was a key part of the Steelers going on an 11-0 undefeated run at the start of the NFL regular season last year.

Juju Smith-Schuster on his way to New York?

The Jets are clearly a team in transition. They had a horrendous season last year, going 2-14. There are doubts about the future of quarterback Sam Darnold next season.

Many people expect the Jets to use their #2 overall draft pick to select a quarterback, especially given the quality of quarterback prospects in this year’s draft class.

But JuJu could bring a significant amount of quality to this team. As mentioned earlier, the wide receiver position has been a concern for the team over the last few seasons.

But the Steelers will not be willing to let him go so easily. Despite cap constraints, the Steelers are hoping to bring Smith-Schuster back the next season. But it may not be easy, given how much work they’ll have to do.

Can the New York Jets sign JuJu Smith-Schuster? They have enormous cap flexibility this off-season and could provide JuJu with a higher salary.

Furthermore, playing in a major market like New York could be a huge temptation for him to sign. However, the Steelers will hope to appeal to JuJu’s loyalty and hope that he comes around.
