Deion Sanders underwent emergency surgery, sparking concern among his fans. While rumors circulated about the possibility of a foot amputation, ‘Coach Prime’ clarified the rumors in a video addressing his medical condition ahead of his inaugural season. In this candid message, Sanders demonstrated a calm and collected demeanor that belied the challenges he faced.

But hours after the surgery, the former NFL pro shared heart-wrenching words of confession.

Earlier yesterday, Tracey Edmonds posted a photo on social media featuring herself, Colorado athletic trainer Lauren Askevold, and Deion Sanders before his surgery. In the caption, Edmonds, who has been in a relationship with Sanders since 2012, shared, “We declare…God has #CoachPrime @DeionSanders covered today. Thank you so much, Fam, for all your prayers!”

After his surgery, his son Deion Sanders Jr. posted a video to his dad’s Instagram account. The Colorado coach thanked the Almighty for all the beautiful blessings in his life. “Lord, it’s me. I’m not asking for anything. I just want to say thank you. Lord, if you never bless me again, you’ve blessed me enough. I just want to say thank you,” Sanders said in the video.

Hearing about Deion Sanders’s health struggles was concerning after they revealed it on the Pat McAfee show. He underwent surgery to address this blood clot in his groin, which has been causing him trouble for a while and has worsened over time. Back in 2021 as well, he had to undergo surgeries for his left foot and leg. Sanders had two toes amputated from it and missed three games that season as Jackson State’s football coach.

His new program has created a lot of excitement, and his celebrity status is already helping with recruitment. Despite his health concerns, Sanders showed up on Thursday that he is still as confident as ever. “I ain’t going nowhere because we’re coming,” he said. “I’m just trying to get all this straight, so when I walk that sideline, and I walk my walk — because I’m going to talk my talk — that I can walk my walk.”
