The Met Gala, the biggest event in fashion, has its own share of standouts every year. This year’s theme was to celebrate Karl Lagerfeld. While fans of the NFL world had become accustomed to seeing Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen together at the event, this year, the supermodel had the limelight all to herself after her divorce from her NFL husband. Keeping in touch with the theme of the event, the Brazilian supermodel wore an angelic dress, as an homage to Lagerfeld’s spring 2007 Chanel couture show.

The model turned heads with her attire for the biggest night in fashion, a look familiar to her loyal fanbase, which had a vintage touch to it.

Originally worn on the runway by Freja Beha Erichsen, Gisele Bündchen decided to grace the 2023 Met Gala with the bridal look from Lagerfeld’s 2007 Chanel Couture show. A dress cut from white silk tulle and vertical stripes of sequins, Bundchen’s look was topped off with a cape embellished with feathers and camellia flower details. This is not the first time she wore this dress. She also flaunted the beautiful dress from Lagerfeld’s collection during an editorial shoot in 2007.

Making a radiant return to the red carpet, Gisele Bündchen has a long history of working professionally with Karl Lagerfeld. She conquered the Chanel runways countless times, while also being the face of Chanel for various fashion and fragrance campaigns. A long-time muse of the late great designer Lagerfeld, Bundchen claimed that she saw the vintage dress ‘as the one’ while speaking to the event’s red carpet host La La Anthony.

The last time the supermodel graced the red carpet of the Met Gala was back in 2019 with her ex-husband, Tom Brady. Back then, the duo decided to twin with each other, as Brady wore a maroon tuxedo while Bündchen flaunted a pink Dior gown. This year, as Bündchen’s first solo appearance at the event after her divorce, fans had their own divided set of opinions for the Brazilian bombshell.
