The Kansas City Chiefs fans are excited about their new wide receiver Kadarius Toney. He has just joined the Chiefs team after a trade deal with the New York Giants. And people are trying to guess how coach Andy Reid will use his new weapon alongside the ones he already has in his arsenal.

Coach Reid lifted the lid on his plan of integrating Toney with the rest of the offense in a press conference. Well, sort of.

HC Andy Reid on Kadarius Toney

The media pressed coach Andy Reid on how he is going to integrate his new wide receiver Kadarius Toney into the Chiefs’ offensive unit. Reid mostly remained tight-lipped and said that they will see how things pan out. Maybe he didn’t want to get into details of his offensive plans publicly.

“I think that’s a nice addition by Brett. He is healthy right now, which is a good thing. Look forward to getting him in the mix somehow. We are working through that. We are meeting as a offensive staff and going through those things now. So, we’ll see how that sorts out here. We’ve got one football and a few guys that we like to get the ball to,” the Chiefs HC said.

Reid added that he doesn’t expect Toney to learn everything in a day and his integration would be a gradual process.

“We will see how he fits in. I’m not expecting him to learn the whole offense in a day. I think it’ll be a gradual process going forward even though he is a smart kid. So, I’m sure he’ll pick it up relatively fast,” he said

The fan reaction

The Chiefs fans are excited to see their newest weapon in action. But they also seem to understand that the coach cannot disclose everything in public. Also, settling into a new city and team takes a bit of time.

Love how the coach never coughs up the answers they want. He’s not going to say how he’s going to use Tony,” a fan said of coach Reid not really giving out anything.

Another fan guessed how many touchdowns Toney is going to have as a Chief. “Kadarius Toney is gonna have a few tds I’m guessing,” they said.

“Basically, he is saying don’t expect much investment with Toney,” a fan thought they had read between the lines.

How much involved will Toney be? Only time will tell. But it is exciting to see a young prospect being integrated into an already well-oiled unit led by the one and only Patrick Mahomes.
