Last Sunday, the Steelers shocked the Bucs, and Tom Brady, as the former defeated the Pewter Pirates in a really close game. Pittsburgh’s quarterback Kenny Pickett made his first start last week and was one of the main reasons the Steelers beat the Bucs in that game. However, he suffered a concussion in the third quarter, which put him under concussion protocol for the first time in his career.

This week, he was unsure about playing against the Dolphins. However, that may not be the case with him anymore, as NFL insider Ian Rapoport provides good news for the Steelers fans.

Kenny Pickett will be available against the Dolphins on Sunday

Earlier, Ian Rapoport revealed that Pickett has cleared the concussion protocol and will be available for the game against the Dolphins on Sunday. Last Sunday, in a 20-18 win over the Bucs, the rookie suffered a concussion in the third quarter and was out for the rest of the game. Mitch Trubisky, who started the first four games for Pittsburg, replaced him in the third quarter.

In a recent interview, the QB opened up about the concussion, as he said, “Went through with the doctors and the medical staff. People fly in here to go to these doctors, so I know they’re the best in the country and I feel great with where I’m at.”

“If obviously, I wasn’t feeling good or if it wasn’t going the way we were expecting it to go, then I probably wouldn’t have played this week and we would’ve pushed it back… But I didn’t have any setbacks. I felt great going through everything. I’m confident and excited for Sunday,” Pickett further said about clearing the concussion protocol.

Last Tuesday, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that Pickett would start the game against Miami if he clears the protocol. Later on Wednesday, Pickett returned to full practice and continued to do so on Thursday as well. In the last game, he completed 11 of 18 passes for 67 yards, and he led a touchdown drive as well. Safe to say, that was not a bad game for the rookie starting his first game.

Certainly, he impressed his coach Tomlin, as the shot caller is ready to start another game for Pittsburg. In other news, tight end Pat Freiermuth and Cornerback Levi Wallace missed the Bucs game last Sunday due to injury. As per reports, they are also set to return against the Dolphins as well, which will be a huge boost for the Pittsburgh team. They are looking to turn their season around after losing 4 games already. Currently, they are at the bottom of the AFC North division and a win against the Phins will certainly give them immense confidence.
