The New Orleans Saints running back was detained by the law. Alvin Kamara was the target of a civil complaint last month. According to court records, Alvin Kamara’s status hearing in a matter involving violence has been set for January 2023.

Darnell Greene Jr. alleged that the Saints RB was responsible for beating him when he was unconscious on the floor. The altercation happened outside of a Las Vegas nightclub on the morning of February 5. Allegedly, Kamara pushed Greene into the wall and repeatedly laid punches in his face. After Greene fell to the ground, the Pro Blower bragged to his friend about his actions.

The lawsuit demands a jury trial and compensatory and punitive damages of $10 million. Out of which, $5 million in damages for “pecuniary losses, pain and suffering, disfigurement, mental anguish, and past, present, and future medical expenses”. The remaining $5 million is for exemplary damages.

It seems improbable that the NFL will impose any punishment on the 27-year-old in the 2022 season. The league usually lets the legal process play out and then issues penalties under its Personal Conduct Policy. The league could have placed the RB on the Commissioner’s Exempt List while the investigation was being conducted per the law. But that didn’t happen. A misdemeanor charge of conspiracy to commit battery and a felony charge of battery causing bodily harm were laid against Kamara.

After the loss against the Arizona Cardinals by a score of 42-34, the star running back tried to encourage his teammates. He wanted his fellow players to “get their swag back.” 

Kamara said that he played with the best offenses during the time he was in New Orleans. However, the lack of the right attitude and confidence among the players made the team give up the ball. That too more than any other team in NFL. Also, this was the reason that Saints are one of the most penalized.
