LSU’s star wide receiver Malik Nabers has recently found himself in hot water after being charged with illegally carrying a weapon. The 19-year-old was taken into custody by the New Orleans Police Department on Monday and was released the following day.

Nabers was a highly touted four-star recruit out of high school. He made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2021. However, he truly broke out in his sophomore season this past year, logging an impressive 1,017 receiving yards and 3 TDs. He led the team in both catches and yards. He’s generally seen to be amongst LSU’s leading prospects coming into next season.

A clean record without any significant jail time shall pay heavy dividends for his future. It is unclear when Nabers will be back with the LSU team, but given the length of the offseason, he certainly has time to make his way back. He shall certainly play a major role for the LSU Tigers in the upcoming season, as he will look to increase his stake as an NFL bound prospect.
