Be it Drew Bledsoe or Lawyer Milloy, Wes Welker or Vince Wilfork, the quarterback has referred to many of his former New England Patriots peers. In his most recent episode, which aired on Tuesday, Brady talked about his 2014 Super Bowl season.
During that season, WR Julian Edelman was one of the favorite targets for the quarterback and they both had a unique dynamic between them. The partnership between the two got them the Lombardi Trophy after a Super Bowl matchup against the Russell Wilson led Seattle Seahawks.

“Julian’s dad was pretty tough on him,” Brady said in the episode. “Like, Julian will tell a great story about charging the mound when his dad was throwing him batting practice. That’s what you need to know about Jules. That’s what he does. He does not like being told that he’s arrived, he’s great, he’s got a role secured. Julian always likes operating from a place he’s going to get cut tomorrow.”
Religion of Sports tweeted the brief clip of the series where Brady talks about his former teammate. Replying to the clip, Julian wrote, “What’s the saying? Comfort is the enemy of progress. Can’t get complacent. Period.”
