Carson Wentz is still looking to find a new job in the NFL. The 30-year-old QB last suited up in the Commanders’ Week 17 loss to the Browns. He is still a great option for many teams looking for backup QBs, but his ‘hunting’ trips seem to have dampened fan support for him. But while he continues to receive backlash for his Bear Hunt, the hunting community has come out in support of one of their own.

Just a few weeks ago, Wentz found himself at the receiving end of heavy criticism from football fans and activists alike, after he posted a photo of himself next to his ‘prized’ kill, a 300+ lb Black Bear, during his hunting trip to Alaska. As he continues to deal with the jeering and criticism, members from within the hunting community have come out to lend their support to the Super Bowl champion.

Under the Facebook post by the renowned internet personality within the hunting community, many came out to support Wentz.

As one fan said, “Great Job! Man vs Nature it goes back to a time before organized sports.”

Another fan lauded Wentz for his prized hunt, “Yea that’s awesome! A very challenging feat only few will ever truly understand.”

This hunting fan supported Wentz for adding a new trophy to his collection, “Great job and nice trophy!”

But not all fans were as hearty, as some had to take a minute to take a few jibes at Wentz, “What we should all really be talking about is how he was able to go running around in the field and not get hurt.”

Another fan shared similar sentiments, mocking the QB for his lackluster play of late, “Nice bear. Surely the bear jumped on the arrow. Because we all know he can’t hit the target outside of 15 yards.”

While the former Pro Bowl QB has found support with some, he remains under heavy fire from many other fans for hunting the beautiful beast of nature. Hunting might not be illegal in Alaska, but the moral predicament of hunting down a fully grown healthy Bear is surely a tough pill to swallow for many fans of the QB. Wentz, however, has bigger things to pay attention to right now.

For Wentz, he is still looking to find a job within the NFL. With training camp just a few weeks away, the QB remains a free agent, with his days as a starter in the league long behind him. Although he has accepted his new role to play backup on other great teams, he continues to remain unsigned, with the NFL season approaching. Will we see Wentz on the NFL field again?
