While 2020 was an overall disappointment, the Falcons still possess one of the best offensive units in the league. Blessed with talents like Ryan, Julio Jones, Calvin Riddley and Kyle Pitts, the Falcons offense can tear apart any defense on its day.
Transitioning to a new system though needs time. But quarterback Matt Ryan recently said that so far the progress has been smooth.

Talking to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the veteran quarterback said that he’s doing his bit to ensure the transition to Smith’s new system is as smooth as possible.

Arthur Smith will be Ryan’s first head coach who hails from the offensive side of proceedings. Most recently the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans, Smith’s playbook for Ryan should be interesting.
“There are always nuances in different schemes and how coaches like certain things,” Ryan said. “I’ve been working really hard to try to get on the same page. I’ve been excited that we are able to start and get out on the field this week,” he added.

The Falcons have high hopes for the upcoming season. But their plans could take a hit if they end up trading star wideout Julio Jones. If the franchise does trade Julio, Ryan will lose his biggest offensive weapon.
With Ryan too inching closer to his 40s, 2021 might as well be a make or break season for the quarterback still chasing his first Super Bowl ring.
