Both sides are fiercely making their case even though there are many moving parts to the equation that will only settle once Matt hangs his boots.

Matthew Stafford has battled criticism throughout

People criticized Stafford for not showing up in the biggest moments. Well, one might put that argument to rest, given Stafford’s fourth-quarter drive in the Super Bowl LVI.  But not having an All-Pro selection in his long career hurts his case. So does the fact that he has never won the league MVP and has just one pro-bowl selection in the 2014-2015 season.

Also, naysayers say that he has never been the best at his position in any given year. And they disregard that he has the 12th highest passing yard ever, based on inflation in the offense.

Analysts point to the fact that if a debate is viable and gets mainstream attention, chances are the debate carries value. That means there is a case to be made for Stafford’s HOF induction.

The debate has been headlining broadcast shows, and A-list analysts are opining on the issue all over social media. Amidst this all, Stafford’s amazing turnaround in the matter of a year got sidelined. The Rams win-now strategy working has not been the focus of discussions and it seems he is not getting time to enjoy the moment.

HOF or not, Stafford should’ve earned the respect of the sporting community after leading the Rams offense with just one viable throwing option. And that too in the last quarter of the Super Bowl. He had a lot of help from Aaron Donald and the Rams defense. But, he also made many right decisions to achieve what he did. Can we give the man his props?
