Kansas City Chiefs just parted ways with two of their Lombardi-winning wide receivers from last season. First Juju Smith-Schuster became a New England wideout and then Mecole Hardman joined the Gang Green this week. After winning the Super Bowl this season, the Chiefs have accumulated some loyal fans, who are not happy with players leaving the franchise. However, despite leaving Missouri a champion, Hardman is still waging an active Twitter war with some disgruntled Chiefs fans.

No 17 took to Twitter and encouraged fans to find other ways to talk trash. Especially since he acknowledges his current position and status in the National Football League. And all this despite two Super Bowl rings to his name.

The 25-year-old second-round pick from 2019 has been a small but integral cog in the Chiefs’ offensive machine for quarterback Patrick Mahomes. After putting up 2088 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns, along with another 2 rushing scores, during his four years wearing the red, Hardman is fully aware of where he ranks in the NFL’s wide receiver list.

It’s funny how people on the outside think they know everything that’s going on inside while the blinds closed,” Mecole tweeted before firing another one shortly. “I came into the league behind Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Sammy Watkins. And people thought I was supposed to become a #1 WR,” he said with a laughing emoji. Former Chiefs wideout and present-day Miami Dolphin Tyreek Hill showed love to his ex-teammate. “You number 1 bro. You special,” ‘Cheetah’ tweeted.

It didn’t stop there as Mecole continued the back-and-forth with some haters. “I would say you probably won’t make it to the NFL, but I want people to succeed,” he told one.

Fans can’t wait for Mecole to join Aaron Rodgers

Hardman is off to New York on a one-year $6.5 million deal. And the Georgia alum joins some stellar names on the receiving core. Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson can use some help on the opposite sides. The New York Jets also roped in former Packers wideout Allen Lazard this off-season. However, the key attraction for all receivers has to be the one passing the ball. Aaron Rodgers has already stated his intention of wearing the ‘Gang Green’ next year, although the official announcement is still not out.

Hardman can’t be too excited about Rodgers, given he just played four seasons with Pat Mahomes. And Mecole sounded a little heartbroken during his introductory Jets press conference about the Chiefs not wanting to retain him. “I don’t know if they offered anything worth talking about or if they just (were) moving on,” Mecole said.
