New York Jets drew their trump card player out of nowhere and prove the NFL is a place where anything can happen. Before their week 8 clash against the Cincinnati Bengals, many might not have known who Mike White was, but he made sure that they will remember his name after the game.

White was the replacement quarterback for Zach Wilson during the Sunday night game, as the starting QB was sidelined with a knee injury. But the replacement certainly outperformed everyone and even tumbled down records in the very first NFL start of his career, reinforcing his caliber as a starter.

Mike White finished the game with an astounding 37 completions of 45 attempts, covering 405 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. His incredible 405-yard spell was the most by a Jets quarterback in 327 games, dating back to the year 2000.

His remarkable feat of 37 completed passes is an NFL record for a player in his first start. Furthermore, he also tied with Cam Newton as the only player to top 400 passing yards in his first start. His miraculous display for the Jets resulted in a much-needed win for the team.
