Gisele Bündchen’s honesty is a breath of fresh air. Going below the surface of the events that shaped her, the model’s memoir packs a punch. She narrated the thrifty habits she applied to her life to save up for a big purchase, in preparation for a rainy day. But unlike many, the model didn’t only rely on extra money from her job.

Instead, Bündchen chose to cut down on unnecessary spending and save up whatever she could. She wrote, “I began squirreling away whatever funds were left over at the end of each month. I’d never been interested in expensive clothes or handbags or shoes. I was more of a hippie. If I needed new clothes, I paid a visit to one of the downtown flea markets.
