Alex Collins and his Irish dancing were an inspiration

Apart from his NFL heroics, the former Seahawks man was also known for his love of the Irish dance. Collins would practice the Irish Dance rhythms to improve his footwork on the NFL pitch. His affection for the dance would earn him the affection of his teammates and his fans. During his time at the Ravens, he’d inspire a fellow 7th grader in his time of need.

Back in 2017, he’d invited a boy to meet with him who was being bullied for practicing the Irish dance. It was believed that the 7th grader was considering quitting the lessons entirely in response to the bullying he faced, but the talk with Collins convinced him to push through.

In a tweet by the Ravens Realm, they remembered the story and recalled following his passing and tweeted, “Never forget when Alex Collins took the time to meet Carl Tubbs, a 7th grader who was bullied for being a boy learning Irish dancing. Alex Collins practiced Irish dancing to help with his footwork in the NFL. Alex motivated Carl to continue practicing dancing. A great guy.” They joined the likes of the Seahawks and the Ravens to pay tribute to the RB.

The Ravens and the Seahawks remember one of their own

The passing of their former player has brought both teams together as they mourn the loss with his family. The Seahawks and the Ravens took to Twitter and tweeted the words shared by the Collins family as they cope with the pain of losing a cherished family member. They’d also tweet their prayers to his family when the news initially broke.

Collins has earned many fans and friends and all have shared their condolences as they grieve the loss of the RB. His former teammate Russell Wilson would go on to share his prayers as well as tweet about his ‘favorite teammate’.
