Rookie quarterback Mac Jones arrived in the NFL as the 15th overall pick at the 2021 NFL Draft. He was the 5th quarterback to be drafted behind Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, and Justin Fields. But very early on into the season, the youngster is proving himself as an early contender for the Rookie of the Year award.

Jones just managed one game for the Patriots this season, losing the other two. He has 737 passing yards to his name with 2 passing touchdowns from 3 games.

However, the biggest test of his still infant NFL career is in Week 4 against Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Mac Jones invokes a Michael Jordan against the Buccaneers

New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones is putting up a show against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4. The Nick Saban product is having the game of his life while going against NFL GOAT, Tom Brady. Heading into the 3rd quarter of Sunday’s game from Boston, Jones has already thrown for 138 yards with 1 passing touchdown.

But the moment of the game for him came in the first half when Jones called a ‘Michael Jordan’ audible at 1st & 10 in the 2nd quarter. Well, it only seems fair to invoke the name of one GOAT to defeat another, eh?

No doubt, this will be a huge test for the Florida-born youngster. But if he does come through in shining colors, it will mean that all the hype surrounding him in the offseason is justified.
