Cam Newton’s arrival in New England was met with a mixed reaction by Patriots fans. While some feel the coach Bill Belichick has done the right thing by bringing in the former Carolina Panthers man, others disagree. Cam Newton was struggling with foot and shoulder injuries in his final year with the Panthers.

That is exactly why they decided against giving him a contract extension and brought in Teddy Bridgewater instead. Of course, his off-field issues have also led to some complications in recent years. Critics have questioned if Newton is the right fit in the Patriots’ well-oiled machine operated by Belichick. Well, if recent reports are anything to go by, it’s safe to say that Cam is doing just fine.

Cam Newton has left quite an impression on his New England Patriots teammates

New England Patriots’ star cornerback, Jason McCourty, was left impressed by the effort displayed by Cam Newton. Here’s what McCourty had to say about Newton’s punctual habits amidst preseason training.

“Every morning you come in, and you walk by his locker – whether it’s 6 am, 5:30 am – his locker is already open, he’s already here. And when you’re getting ready to leave, you see him with Patriots gear on doing something,” McCourty told ESPN reporter Mike Reiss.

Edelman said, “He’s definitely a former MVP for a reason. The guy is a professional. He works his tail off. He’s extremely dynamic and he’s got a charming personality. It’s been fun to be around. He has a confidence about him — all quarterbacks have confidence, but it’s just a little different with Cam and it’s a vibe that can feel you and get you in a mindset. It’s been fun.”

“It’s also been great to see [Jarrett Stidham] come out and develop his personality and what he’s become and [Brian Hoyer] being such a smart guy that has been in the system for so long. It’s been fun to play with all of them,” Edelman said on the show via Boston.com.

Edelman will hope to strike up a partnership with Newton just like he did with TB12. The former Heisman Trophy winner is more or less the first-choice quarterback heading into the first Gameweek of the season. The Patriots start their 2020 NFL campaign against Miami Dolphins on September 13, 2020. All eyes will be on coach Belichick’s side this season as they gear up for life after Brady.
