Former Patriots QB Tom Brady was full of praise for Julian Edelman and his evolution in his highly awaited ESPN documentary. The wideout was one of Brady’s most trusted outlets for receiving his passes during his time in New England. Edelman wreaked a lot of havoc with Brady during their 3 Super Bowl championships.

The initial meeting between the duo was something that Brady elaborates on in the episode. He describes how Edelman at first was far from his fully developed self. He states, “I didn’t know much about Julian except I knew we were going to scout this kid from Kent State who I think ultimately was a better football player than he was a wide receiver”.

But his gradual improvement to a better player received total validation during his 2018 season. The season began on a low note for Edelman who served a 4-game suspension for PEDs use.

Along with Brady and the Patriots squad, the sub-par player transformed into a multi-time Super Bowl winner. Brady, while talking about Edelman’s 2018 season, states, “Julian stepped up his game just to a ridiculous level. He became a driving force for our team and [from] a different era than earlier in my career, Julian kind of became the real type of Patriot that a lot of the guys before him were.”

Both his teammates recognized the work that Edelman put in when it did count, during the postseason. Julian Edelman’s work ethic during their Super Bowl run in 2018 was almost similar to Brady himself.

Brady even called Edelman the ultimate overachiever for his amazing career. He was part of their brilliant system under coach Bill Belichick, which was the catalyst for Brady’s 6 rings. Despite the present being a tough time between them, Brady and Edelman will be always remembered for their accolades with New England.
