NFL franchise Las Vegas Raiders pulled off a shocking swoop of former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams this offseason. The move left many fans in bewilderment as they believed he was going to re-sign and play with Aaron Rodgers in 2022. However, a recent interview about Adams’ trade to the Raiders has thrown more light on what went down behind the scenes.
In a recent podcast interview on the Rich Eisen Show, NFL Network analyst David Carr, brother of the Raiders QB Derek Carr, was quite revealing.

While talking about how the trade happened, David states, “It’s something that they’ve tried to make happen for five years now, since Davante signed his contract extension several years ago with the Packers. Derek was pushing to get him there, and Davante was really close. A couple years ago, they were really close to making that happen.”

It seems there was a mutual interest between Adams and Carr to team up in Las Vegas. According to reports, he has previously been looking forward to or even dreaming to reunite with his former Fresno State QB. The desire of the former Packers wideout was subdued by his decision to play out his contract in Wisconsin.

David reveals that Adams signed with Fresno State because of his brother and how they hit it off during the recruiting trip to college. He adds that both have been inseparable and have moved houses together while also training together in the offseason while Adams was a Packer.
