Nonetheless, it has never stopped Cowherd from praising particular QBs who have performed well in a short period. However, it seems like this is one of those times when his praise may have had the opposite effect, for it may have hurt his chances of succeeding.

Cowherd criticizes Jets’ QB Sam Darnold for a change
In a recent episode of ‘The Herd’, Cowherd stated that his praise may be doing more harm than good, as far as Sam Darnold is concerned. Hence, he apologized for praising Darnold till now.

The Fox Sports’ host addressed that a recent power ranking had the New York Jets at the third-worst supporting cast in NFL. Cowherd stated that the New York Jets had failed to offer Sam Darnold the perfect environment to hone his craft.

Cowherd says that Jets’ squad is inept
Jets’ QB Darnold was picked overall 3rd in the draft of 2018. He made a record in the first week of his rookie season. He was the youngest player to start and win a game.
Cowherd stated that Darnold ended up going just 4-9 as a starter with a lousy squad as a rookie. In the following year, he just improved to 7-6. A series of injuries have been anchoring his growth.

With this criticism towards Sam Darnold, Cowherd intends the opening of Jets’ team officials. Cowherd expects the Jets to set Darnold up with an arsenal in the form of some talented teammates.
