Last night saw New York Jets pull off arguably the biggest upset of Week 8. The Jets defeated Cincinnati Bengals in a close 34-31 win. This win was very important for the Jets, who before this victory had the least number of points in their divisional rankings. Cincinnati Bengals were fresh off defeating a rampant Ravens side. Add to that the dismal start for the Jets so far and no one expected the Jets to even have a chance in the match. Mike White made a name for himself last night with a breakout performance against Super Bowl favorites Cincinnati Bengals. Coming in as a week 8 replacement for injured quarterback Zach Wilson, White had a night to remember. The quarterback passed for 405 yards and scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to help the Jets overcome a double-digit deficit and upset the Bengals.
Seeing so much vigor and enthusiasm from Mike came as a ray of hope for the Jets fans, who have been massively let down by their team. This prompted the media to ask Jets coach Robert Saleh if White could be a long-term option. He unsurprisingly replied that anything can happen. “We’ll go day-to-day, but anything is possible,” Saleh said.
