Former Super Bowl champion Willie McGinest shocked the NFL world when news of his arrest came to public light. The former linebacker was arrested in Los Angeles on Monday. In a bewildering turn of events, McGinest went from being a renowned player in the NFL world to a name that is making the news for the wrong reasons. Willie McGinest does not pull his punches

The controversial actions or words of well-regarded athletes are often sensationalized. Athletes with influence are generally in the spotlight because of the influence they wield. But in this case, even if McGinest did not have a history with the sport, his actions would’ve come to public notice. While most players keep physical violence and contact restricted to the field, McGinest channeled some of his skills in the wrong setting.

Footage obtained by TMZ shows the LB approaching a man at a nightclub in West Hollywood. The video clip shows him approaching a man seated at the nightclub. McGinest leans over to speak to the alleged victim before lashing out and punching him. Several others who accompanied McGinest joined in on the action. McGinest also appeared to pick up a bottle and proceeded to whack the man on his head. The three-time Super Bowl champion was arrested on a reported charge of assault with a deadly weapon.

McGinest won’t be providing game insights any time soon

The current NFL analyst and others who accompanied him to the brawl landed punch after punch for around 30 seconds. The clip shows McGinest walking away after the attack. It’s quite surprising to see the alleged victim, who looked visibly shaken and bruised, get up after taking such a heavy beating from multiple individuals. NFL reporter Dov Kleiman shared the TMZ-sourced video which had fans stunned beyond belief.

According to reports, McGinest’s bail was set at $30,000. The NFL star has reportedly been released from custody after he posted bond. This shocking turn of events has stirred conversation in the NFL world. Questions of the reasons that prompted this attack are currently weighing on everyone’s mind. The NFL world is accustomed to hearing analysts throw punches verbally. But no one could have seen McGinest’s acts of violence coming. According to TMZ, the former Patriots star will not be appearing on the NFL Network while the issue is under review.
