Aaron Rodgers has been having a fantastic season so far. Rodgers has led the Packers to a 12-3 record, as they sit first in the NFC North.

As things stand, the Packers are considered favorites to emerge from the NFC and reach the Super Bowl. Rodgers has been playing at an MVP level this year and is one of the favorites for the accolade.

But he believes that the Packers and Rodgers will be favorites for the NFC if they get the first-seed by defeating the Chicago Bears.

He said, “If they finish off the deal and beat the bears, then they have to be the favorites in the NFC. Aaron Rodgers, in his career as of today, has been the first-seed, one time.

“Aaron Rodgers in his career has played a total of 6 playoff games at Lambeau.”

He compared Rodgers’ situation to that of reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.  “Patrick Mahomes has been the first-seed twice and played four home games.

“That is not a Rodgers vs Mahomes thing. How well someone is supported in Mahomes and how badly someone else has been supported in Aaron Rodgers.”

Aaron Rodgers – strong MVP candidate

Wright believes that their playoff past under head coach Matt LaFleur is reason enough to believe they can be the favorites if they secure the one-seed.

“Under Matt LaFleur, this team is right now 15-2. They have been exceptional at home and it almost helps, in my mind, that the two losses were against mediocre, bad teams – the Eagles last year and the Vikings.

“So if they are able to win next Sunday in Chicago, they will be the prohibitive favorites in the NFC.”

Additionally, Wright believes that Rodgers will be the solid favorite to win the MVP award this season over Patrick Mahomes.

“And as an added bonus, if they win in Chicago, Rodgers will steal the MVP which is rightfully Patrick Mahomes’. But he will steal it from him if they end up capping it off with the 1-seed. So if you’re a Packers fan this morning, you have to feel great”.

It remains to be seen if the Packers can beat the Chicago Bears and if Rodgers can secure the MVP title this season. Fans could be in for a great offseason for the Packers, which could end at the Super Bowl.
