Julian Edelman recently called it a day after serving as a New England Patriots player for 11 seasons. Drafted back in 2009, the Patriots wide receiver won 3 Super Bowls during his time with the franchise.
Edelman even won the MVP award back in Super Bowl LIII. A chronic knee injury, though, plagued the wide receiver, which ultimately led to him hanging up his boots.
But ever since his retirement, there’s been a debate about whether he deserves to be in the NFL Hall of Fame. And an NFL analyst feels that there’s only one definitive answer to this.

Does Julian Edelman belong in the NFL Hall of Fame?
During a segment of Speak For Yourself, NFL analyst Emmanuel Acho weighed in on the topic up for contention.
“Is it crazy to say to me Edelman is a Hall of Famer? It is kind of crazy. Here’s what I will do. Because so many people will say, ‘How you gonna disrespect Julian Edelman?’
“Can we reframe this? I’m not going to disrespect Hall of Famers by saying Julian Edelman is a Hall of Famer,” said Acho.
Stating as to why he feels this way, Acho said that while Edelman has come in clutch during the Playoffs, his performances during the regular season have been far from Hall of Fame-caliber.

“To be in the Hall of Fame, what we’ve learned is, it’s not just what you do in a regular season. It’s also about what you do in the postseason… So if that’s the case, we should be able to flip that on his head. It’s also what you do in the regular season,” he said.
With no Pro Bowl appearances to his name, it indeed is a hard case to bat for the Patriots WR as a future Hall of Famer.
“When I look at what Edelman has done in the regular season, I’m looking like, ‘Hey, big dawg. There is no plausible way that you should be even in the conversation for being a Hall of Famer,” he added.
