Cowherd explained through his show that he believes only eight quarterbacks can be included in the tier 1 category. The remaining eighth in the tier 2 category and the rest of the 16 quarterbacks come under Tier 3.

“I only think there are eight guys in the world in tier one and probably eight in tier two and then 16 and tier three,” he said on the show.

“To me, these are the guys that go on to the Super Bowl. Allen, Brady, Burrow, Herbert, Mahomes. Rogers Matthew Stafford, Russell Wilson. I think Derek Carr and Kyler Murray are darn close. Lamar Jackson, maybe two I’m not sure. I think Kyler, I think Dak, and Lamar can win maybe a playoff game or two. I think Derek Carr’s darn close, I like Derek way more than the market. And I think Kyler is very special.” he added in his short speech.

The Oklahoma product surprised the fans with his recent contract that he signed last week. The deal assures him $46.1 million per year on average, putting him just behind the Packers’ QB Aaron Rodgers. Murray will get $105 million at the time of signing, making him one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL.

Despite all these developments, the thing that caught everyone’s attention was a special clause that was included in Murray’s contract. It contained a compulsory “independent study” clause that keeps the quarterback busy with having homework, apart from team meetings and training sessions for four hours every week throughout the season.
