Justin Herbert had an incredible rookie season last year. He was a solid quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers despite being a rookie. He was a spectacular performer for the Chargers and stepped up in the big moments for them.

Despite them missing the Playoffs, there was a noticeable change in the team. For his efforts, Herbert was awarded the Rookie of the Year accolade. But one analyst thinks he will take a massive leap this season.

NFL analyst Mike Greenberg spoke on ESPN about Justin Herbert. He pointed out that Patrick Mahomes was able to win the league MVP title within his second season. Furthermore, Lamar Jackson was able to do the same in his second season as well.

“I’m looking at Justin Herbert, I’m talking about all the things that we were having this conversation a little while ago. That’s a team that lost nine games by 1 score or seven games last year (by) 1 score.”

“The point is, they were like just a half a dozen plays from being a playoff team a year ago. New coaching staff turned that around, couple more pieces completely remade the offensive line, including the first-round pick – a tackle, they bring in two new guards and a center. I think Justin Herbert has a really good chance to be the MVP of the NFL this year.”
