“A number of things stood out to me. One is, it’s a reminder that New England has got money to spent this year. Another is, it is a reminder to folks everywhere, a good lesson – treat people well, show up on time, work hard and you might be rewarded even if you go through a tough stretch.”

Cam Newton- Not a good Plan-A?

Wright added that Newton struggled for significant periods of time last season, which is what makes him re-signing with the Patriots all the more surprising.

He believes that the reason the Patriots brought him back is that they didn’t have a solid Plan-B. And while it is a risky move, it is the move they are going with at the moment.

“It was an indication to me that the Patriots were a little concerned about Cam hitting the open market because they have no Plan B.

“I don’t know if Plan A in Cam is a great one. We’ll see how he looks, I root for him. But they understood that if he went somewhere else, they are a man without a country at the most important position in sports.”

Can Cam Newton be a success with the New England Patriots? He will have a chip on his shoulder this season. Many have doubted Cam’s abilities after his rough season last year.

The former MVP will be looking to prove his doubters wrong and repay the New England Patriots’ faith in him.
