Carson Wentz is no longer in Philadelphia, and the Eagles are trusting Hurts to be the new starting quarterback. One NFL analyst is tipping him to have a very successful stint as the starter for the Eagles.

NFL analyst Matt Miller spoke recently about Jalen Hurts. He believes that Hurts is set up for success with the Philadelphia Eagles this season.

He compared Hurts’ progression during his college days with both Alabama and Oklahoma. Based on that progression, he can bring similar energy this season, and show what he can do with a full offseason under his belt.

“I think the key with Jalen Hurts, what we saw going from Alabama to Oklahoma, he got with Lincoln Riley, he worked on his mechanics. He loosened up his delivery, that made him more accurate.

“I’m really excited to see where he takes that moving forward with the full offseason. We got to remember these rookie quarterbacks didn’t have a preseason last year, they didn’t have an offseason last year.”

Jalen Hurts ready to take the mantle

Miller added that Hurts was a significant improvement over Carson Wentz last season. There was a major difference in the energy brought to the field, and the Eagles were better for it.

Miller then noted that Hurts has his full faith as the future starting quarterback going forward. However, Miller also hoped that the franchise puts a better system around him to get the best out of Hurts.

“So Jalen Hurts was really thrown into a tough situation. But I think they key is this offense like Jalen Reagor said. They played better with Jalen Hurts, there was a lot more energy out on the field, the numbers went up as well.
