Now, Stafford will be on the market for any team that wishes to bolster its quarterback corps for the upcoming NFL season. NFL analyst Adam Schefter went on The Drive to talk about the future of Stafford.
Schefter believes that despite the trade moratorium not being lifted until March, the Lions could finalize the trade for Stafford in the coming weeks. He doesn’t expect his departure to be a long drawn out saga like other franchise players in the past.

He said, “I think the Matthew Stafford trade talks will go quicker than people expect. Obviously, no trades can be processed until the middle of March.
“But it could be agreed to today if the Lions wanted. I think they’ll look to do that sooner rather than later.”
