The final investigation reports of Tua Tagovailoa and his injuries have been jointly released by the NFL and the players association. After a brief probe since the Week 3 instabilities, the quarterback was under close watch. He triggered more worries after experiencing a concussion in the next game against the Bengals.
Recently the final reports emerged with an update in the drafted protocols for the gross mortar instability. It also mentions that the medical staff thoroughly followed the routine check-up before bringing Tagovailoa back to the field.

For a moment, it seemed like a concussion after the quarterback hit his head on the turf. He stumbled walking back to the position. But the management claimed that he suffered a hyperextended back, not a concussion. The passer also acknowledged this in the post-game press conference.
Meanwhile, the report also clarified that the physician and the unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant did not examine Tagovailoa’s back; instead, they relied on previous reports. The most recent update in the protocols will aid the athletes even more.

It states that if in the future any player shows symptoms or exhibits abnormalities in controlling his body or wobbles his next steps, or distorts speech due to a neurological issue, then he won’t be able to return to the field. Hopefully, this limits the management’s reckless decisions and going harsh on players in the heat of the moment.
