If you are a fan of the NFL, you might be well aware of the scandalous investigation surrounding the Washington Commanders. The Commanders are under investigation for the actions of one man, their owner Dan Snyder. Now, Roger Goodell, too, has joined in, as the commissioner of the NFL laid out his thoughts on Snyder’s latest doings.
Among a bevy of other rumors, Snyder was accused of harassing an employee of the team. As attorney Mary Jo White starts off with a second investigation into Snyder’s case, it seems that the notorious owner doesn’t share any interest in participating in the investigation. Snyder has refuted the allegations from day one. But if he were to be innocent, he doesn’t seem to be interested in proving his innocence.

Synder has delayed his participation in the investigation by raising concerns about fairness and due process. He continues to dodge questions from attorney Mary Jo White, as evidence mounts up against Snyder’s denial. But fans aren’t too happy with the response from the face of the NFL. Roger Goodell finally addressed Dan Snyder’s non-cooperation, but his comments did not strike a note with fans.

When asked about the possibility of penalizing Snyder, Goodell was non-committal. He stated that it is ultimately up to attorney White to determine whom she talks to. The league will “allow her to do her job” before making any decisions about potential penalties for Dan Snyder. But it’s clear that fans aren’t going to stand behind Goodell and the NFL’s lack of action.

Fans continue to criticize Goodell for his inaction against Snyder. Especially as the league was amongst the first to receive criticism for lack of internal action against the Commanders and Snyder when the allegations first arose.

The notorious past of Dan Snyder
In 2020, numerous female workers and former employees came out with charges of sexual harassment, bullying, and verbal abuse within the Washington Commanders. As a result, attorney Beth Wilkinson and her colleagues initiated the first inquiry into the organization. The charges included claims of obscene conduct and unwanted propositions made by team leaders and staff members towards female employees.

The investigation opened up a deep wormhole of suppressed allegations and a toxic workplace environment. As the investigations against Snyder continue to pile up evidence against Snyder, fans wait to see how the League eventually responds. Snyder’s case is one which could lead to severe repercussions across the NFL. Only time will tell if Snyder is served his appropriate dose of justice.
