Former Denver Broncos legendary tight end Shannon Sharpe recently gave his verdict about who he considered to be the most dominant NFL player. Sharpe was offering his views on who was more dominant between Tom Brady and Aaron Donald in his latest appearance. While Brady has put up incredible numbers in recent seasons, Donald has been the anchor on defense for the Los Angeles Rams.

During his latest appearance on FS1’s Undisputed show, Sharpe shares his opinions on the most dominant players list released by Bleacher Report. He states, “Aaron Donald, and it’s not even close. He’s the most dominant defensive player of his generation. He’s an all-time great at the peak of his powers. Eight seasons in the league, 8 Pro Bowl, and 7 straight 1st Team All Pros. How do you get more dominant than that? He’s more dominant at his position than any other NFL player is at their position.

While he isn’t contesting Tom Brady and his greatness in the NFL, Sharpe believes that Brady has a lot of competitors like Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes in his position.

The former Broncos TE admits that Donald has no competitors for his throne and has no visible challengers throughout his career. He considers that Donald is the best player in the league despite not being a QB.

The dominance of Aaron Donald was on display in 2021

The 3-time Defensive Player of the Year eclipses every defensive tackle with elite pass-rushing abilities and is a nightmare for most NFL QBs. An underrated ability of Donald is his run-stopping production which has led the league in tackles for loss during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. As another NFL season approaches, Donald will be returning for the 2022 campaign after signing a deal that gives him a $40 million raise. The new deal makes him the highest-paid non-QB player in league history and paves the path for future DTs. In 2022, the drive for Donald will be to repeat his feats with the Rams and bring home another Super Bowl title.
