NFL Hall of Famer Seriously Doubts That Jalen Hurts Is Philadelphia Eagles’ Long Term Solution

Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe was recently talking about the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and his qualities to be a future Super Bowl champion. Sharpe believes that Hurts might not be the long-term guy for the Eagles franchise in their pursuit of Super Bowl glory. It seems to be an interesting take from the former Broncos TE, who is a former 3-time Super Bowl champion.
During the recent segment on FS1’s Undisputed Show, while discussing the problems with the Eagles franchise, Sharpe states, “Is he the QB? Yes, that’s what he is. But I don’t believe he is the answer to what they want to do, Skip. His legs will win you games during the regular season, and he plays well enough to win you games. You might make the playoffs in the NFC East. But Skip, he can’t throw the football well enough and consistently enough, I believe to be your long-term solution.”

While Sharpe might appear harsh on Hurts, his performances against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild-Card Round prove the point. He believes that having a running QB will not win them games in the postseason unless Hurts can throw the football better. Sharpe is asking the difficult questions from the Eagles fans, who hope Hurts can answer all his doubters next season.
Jalen Hurts has the potential to develop his game
Similarly, his fellow analyst Skip Bayless had his say about Hurts and believes he has the scary intangibles to become a great NFL QB. Bayless was praising Hurts for his hard work and effort to turn the Eagles into an elite rushing offensive line last season. He believes it was due to Hurts that the franchise made the playoffs last season.

It is a surprising take from Bayless for a divisional rival, as he is a self-professed Dallas Cowboys fan. Bayless adds that the acquisition of WR AJ Brown this free-agency will be setting up interesting options for Hurts.
