The 2022-23 season has become a must-see campaign, as it could be the last of Tom Brady. The quarterback opened the season with a big victory over the Cowboys. But what made the game more eye-catching was the Michael Jordan commercial. The GOATed promo was a surprise for many, adding more fuel to the fire. It also surprised HOF TE Shannon Sharpe, who expressed his thoughts on it.

During the FS1’s Undisputed, Jenny Taft asked Sharpe about his thoughts on the NBC commercial featuring MJ. Like several others, it dazzled the Hall of Famer, who did not think Jordan would do any regular commercials.

Shannon Sharpe is awestruck

Shannon Sharpe mentioned. “I was surprised because, as I said and know him a little, not great. But he’s seeming to become more and more and more of a recluse, and he really never did a whole lot anyway. That wasn’t related to Michael Jordan. Anything that he did was all about the commercials. All about doing it for Mike. And for him to sit down, like I said last night, and to talk about Tom Brady, even though he was in joking manners. He’s like, ‘I retired for two years,’ he’s like, ‘Tommy, he couldn’t last two months.’ And, so for me, yeah. I was a little surprised.”

Sharpe also said that Jordan had the mental capacity to continue playing basketball, but his body wouldn’t let him. He believes it’s easier to play football at the quarterback position at that age than Jordan was.

Is Michael Jordan the reason that Tom Brady has seven championship wins?

Jordan and Brady go down as some of the best athletes in sports history. Yet there was a point when MJ had the overwhelming advantage over Tom Terrific on who was the ultimate best. It goes back to the Bahamas in 2015, with Michael Jordan and Tom Brady engaged in a golf game during a vacation.

A trash-talking Jordan told Brady to come back when he would have six championships in his name. But Jordan should have paused before issuing this challenge. The quarterback not only matched those six titles but eclipsed them with a new team in 2021. It could be the ultimate moment for TB12 to win a championship after coming off retirement and showcase who the absolute GOAT is.
