After Ben Roethlisberger’s departure, the Steelers’ management was hunting for a suitable candidate to fill his shoes. Head coach Mike Tomlin made several changes in the QB depth chart throughout the season, and finally, after some trial and error, rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett was chosen to start the games. Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw believes the team has got their guy, and now it is time to add some pieces around him.

The first-round pick of the 2022 NFL draft has proved to be a promising asset for the Steelers nation. Pickett’s performance, despite a loss against the Bengals, convinced the fans to elevate him as a true franchise quarterback.

Four-time Super Bowl Champion Terry Bradshaw, who works as an analyst for FOX Sports, had a similar view on this matter. “Is he a super A talent? No, but he’s an upper echelon B,” Bradshaw said.

“I think they have their guy. He almost has the ‘it’ thing. If you can not have the ‘it’ thing, I get that, but he’s a guy that can get ‘it’ once they put some pieces around him.” he added. Bradshaw was speaking to Colin Cowherd on his talk show and responded on various issues around football.

To a much larger extent, Bradshaw had a valid point in his analysis. Athletes don’t require phenomenal arm strength to become great QBs in the NFL. He pointed out talents like Jimmy Garoppolo and Billy Kilmer to support his justification.

“You could have an arm like Billy Kilmer. As long as you can sit in the pocket, read coverages and not panic. He does all of that.” Bradshaw explained.
