Kansas City Chiefs’ running back, Damien Williams checked into the Los Angeles Airbnb on Saturday. The robbery took place on the same day. They demanded money from Williams and his friends, before the three men then threatened him before robbing as much as $1000 in cash. However, they did not brandish any weapons on the act.

The law enforcement agencies have only begun working on the case. Hence, it is too early to say that Williams was targeted specifically. Since it was a rented home, there are chances that he was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. Moreover, it is still unclear as to why Williams was in Los Angeles that day. The running back was born and raised in San Diego, 3-hour drive from LA, so fans believe he might have gone there for a casual visit. As of now, the department is in search of 3 African-American men. The LAPD is looking for surveillance footage to help them solve the case even quicker.

Damien Williams’ 2020 Season

The Super Bowl Champion had an emphatic 2019 Season. He played a key role in the 2020 playoffs. In the Super Bowl match against San Francisco 49ers, he broke the Super Bowl Record with 100+ rush yards. He rushed a total of 17 times for 45 yards in that match. Before inking an $8.1 Million two-year deal with Chiefs, Williams played with Miami Dolphins. Going into the 2020 season, he was expected to have a responsible position in the team. However, he might have to compete for that spot with Chiefs’ first-round pick of Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Clyde was even compared with an NFL Legend. Anyhow, Williams will start at the RB position, as per Chiefs’ GM. While the enforcement agency sorts this case out, Damien might be working round the clock with the team through virtual meetings. Chiefs’ coach Andy Reid confirmed that they have already begun the offseason virtually!
