New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has a lot of work to do in terms of proving himself in this 2022 NFL season. Jones is entering his fourth season, and the Giants have declined the 5th-year option on him. While everyone is speculating about his future, his teammate and backup QB Davis Webb sees a ray of hope in him.

Davis Webb said in an interview with the New York Post, “He’s the hardest-working quarterback I’ve been around. He’s probably the smartest quarterback I’ve been around.”

Davis Webb has not started a single game in the league. He was drafted in the third round in 2017 by the New York Giants. In 2019, the Buffalo Bills got him into the team as a backup QB. Now again Giants have onboarded him for the upcoming NFL season.

How Much Is Patrick Mahomes Promised in His Biggest Deal in Sports History With Kansas City Chiefs Compared to Tom Brady’s $375 Million Contract With Fox?

Webb further said, “He has really good questions in meetings, takes really good notes, he’s always looking to improve, weight room, practice field, meeting room, he’s just all in, and it’s fun to have a teammate like that. Cares that much and brings the most out of his teammates.”

Davis Webb has been on a roster with many talented QBs such as Giants legend Eli Manning, Bills QB Josh Allen, and Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. Webb was a teammate of Patrick Mahomes in his college days. Although having played under those big names, Webb still thinks Jones is one of the most hard-working quarterbacks.

The Giants have declined the 5th year option of Daniel Jones as they are still in doubt whether he will make it big this season. There is a possibility that the Giants release him in the next season and look to acquire one of the best quarterbacks in the league. However, if Daniel Jones shines this year, Giants would definitely stick with him.
