The Buccaneers have a revolving door policy for everything as they announced the promotion of defensive coordinator Todd Bowles. The reason for the family get-together could be because Bowles is the stepfather of Mathieu’s fiancee Sydni Russell.

The departure of safety Jordan Whitehead to the New York Jets will be a gaping hole in the Buccaneers’ defensive line. While the Buccaneers let Whitehead walk without even making him an offer, the Honey Badger presents an opportunity.

Both Bruce Arians and Todd Bowles have been long admirers of Mathieu. He might be the answer to the team’s current predicament on the defensive side of the ball.
