Looks like it’s going to be another long and torturous year for seasoned NFL wide receiver, Odell Beckham Jr. Once regarded as the ‘next big thing’ in the NFL and making it to the Madden cover, OBJ has found himself in something of a slump in Cleveland.

After his trade move away from the New York Giants in 2019, Beckham Jr. settled with the Cleveland Browns. But after almost 2 years with them, it appears that OBJ is ready to move to greener pastures.

OBJ has 235 receiving yards and 3 receiving TDs to his name after 6 games. Those numbers are decent, but given OBJ’s skill-set he should be doing far better.

A major reason behind these subpar numbers is Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. Don’t believe us? Ask Stephen A. Smith.

Odell Beckham Jr. needs to demand a trade says Stephen A. Smith

On the latest segment of ESPN’s First Take, Stephen A. Smith was joined by Dan Orlovsky and Max Kellerman. In a rare occurrence, all three members of the talk show agreed on the fact that OBJ must push for a trade move away from the Browns before deadline day.

They all also agree that Baker Mayfield is the reason behind the Browns’ struggles. Why? Mr. Smith explains.

Odell Beckham Jr. needs to demand a trade…he needs to demand a trade and get the hell up out of Cleveland. As far as I’m concerned, Jarvis Landry should demand a trade away from Cleveland.

“Anybody who is a pass catcher, you don’t want to play with this (Baker Mayfield) guy because he’s not going to make you look good,” Smith said on the show.

If Beckham were to become ‘available’ before the deadline, he could be a promising prospect for a number of NFL teams. Do we see another blockbuster trade on the cards? Well, as is often the case with OBJ, we’ll have to wait to find out.
