Since August, many expected the veteran, Mitch Trubisky, to become the starting quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers. And the expectations come true, as Trubisky officially becomes the starting QB. The new passer topped the depth chart. He left behind the first-round draft pick, Kenny Pickett, and the longtime backup, Mason Rudolph. And now the 24-year-old draft pick has to congratulate his teammate. Well, Twitter did what it does the best and trolled Kenny Pickett over something he can’t control.

In Week 1, the 28-year-old new starting shot-caller will face the Cincinnati Bengals in the battle of the AFC north team. The defensive captain, Cameron Heyward, said, “All three quarterbacks have just been great, if I’m being honest, but Mitch is the guy we’re riding with.”

Mitch Trubisky took on the role of becoming the mentor of the rookie, Kenny Pickett. He accepted his role as the veteran who helps the young guy. According to him, the principal component is communication, which will help both parties. When he was a rookie, the veterans did the same for him. However, how would Trubisky save his student from the NFL Twitter trolls?

Kenny Pickett gets trolled for small hands

Kenny Pickett has established himself as a strong on-field talent. The talented passer completed 67.2 percent of his passes, threw for 4,319 yards and 42 touchdowns with seven interceptions, and rushed 97 times for 241 yards and five scores. But the dextrous QB faced criticism for his tiny hands.

His hands measure 8.625 inches. There was never a quarterback in NFL history to have such small hands. Quarterbacks like Joe Burrow of the Bengals, Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions, and Ryan Tannehill of the Titans have hands that are 0.2 inches larger than his.

“They are small,” the second quarterback’s coach said. “However, when I shook it, it wasn’t like, whoa, you have a baby hand.”

Many can agree that the roasts make pretty funny memes.

The prime concern regarding QBs with smaller hands is the fumbling of the ball. Although there is no data that shows players with the size of Pickett’s hands are any better or worse in football. There is a lack of players with smaller hand sizes. Maybe that is why the concern regarding his gameplay was raised.
