While names such as Aaron Rodgers and Lamar Jackson still await their fateful decisions, Odell Beckham Jr. has found a landing spot in Baltimore. Baltimore Ravens signed Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year $15 million deal, with incentives lining up to $18 million. The base salary is speculated to be $1.165 million along with a hefty signing bonus of $13.835 million. And, one NFL legend doesn’t like the idea of OBJ chasing money.

Beckham had been looking forward to donning a new uniform, but as usual, compensation was a major factor. Earlier, reports of OBJ asking for a $20 million deal were doing the rounds, and looks like Beckham has landed himself a deal close to that number. While Beckham himself must be delighted at this new opportunity, a certain NFL veteran feels that OBJ was just chasing the bag.

Now with Odell Beckham Jr. facing a similar situation, Marcellus Wiley has had a rough take on his situation.

According to Wiley, “Odell Beckham is obviously in the pursuit of that he had a price and he wanted the team to meet it, like Dallas before right? And there were conversations with the Jets, etc. But Odell Beckham Jr. Just proved to you what we call PPP

Wiley goes on to explain the ‘PPP’, which entails: Price, Place, and Players.

Despite his take, Wiley understands the dilemma of players showcasing their pursuit of money, “It’s like if you say if you show it, then it turns off the organization and more importantly it turns off the fan base”.

While Wiley certainly went in on Odell Beckham Jr. and his search for the PPP, another Baltimore Raven is fighting his own battles to get an ideal deal.

Where does Lamar Jackson stand?

While OBJ is destined to put on a Ravens uniform, the same cannot be said for Lamar Jackson. Lamar Jackson has remained adamant about his demands for a contract in line with Deshaun Watson’s five-year, $230 million, fully-guaranteed contract.
