Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf appears to be a hot shot for the referees as he got fined multiple times this season. The most recent ones came after the Buccaneers’ game for unsportsmanlike conduct, and he got slapped with a hefty fine of almost $30,000.

DK Metcalf might be the only athlete in the Seattle locker room to have paid so many penalties this season. During the early third quarter, Metcalf was seen arguing with the referees over an uncalled defensive pass interference penalty.
Subsequently, he got fined $29,785 for unsportsmanlike conduct, pointing a finger twice at the officials. The NFL insider Tom Pelissero disclosed the news via Twitter, and fans believed the fine was unnecessary because it more or less looked like interference, and no flag was thrown.

It was a third-and-eight play, and the quarterback Geno Smith targeted Metcalf for a touchdown pass toward the end zone. Being a fade route, the pass went incomplete. However, Metcalf believed that Bucs defensive back Jamel Dean interfered with him.

No flag was called, and the only action was taken against the wideout for argument with the referees. Throughout the game, he bagged six catches for 71 yards and eventually lost 21-16 to the Bucs.
Apart from these penalties, it was an ecstatic game in Germany where Tom Brady snapped the Seahawks’ four-game winning streak. He completed 22 of 29 passes for 258 yards and called the game one of the most satisfying moments in his 23-season career. The entire crowd humming ‘Sweet Caroline’ and ‘Country Roads’ synchronously added more colors to the celebration.

NFL world puzzled watching DK Metcalf slapped with a hefty fine
While Geno Smith and his team were eying to maintain their winning streak, the Buccaneers were in dire need to keep their playoff aspirations alive. Certainly, in the end, it was Brady and Co. who left the field with a big smile, but for a moment, fans felt Metcalf’s penalty was an unnecessary move by the officials.
