A recent Reddit post authored by a fan about the Dallas Cowboys is abuzz on social media. The Cowboys, who initially smashed the record of $9.2 million, making it the most valuable player, are now tagged as one of the most disliked squads ever to exist.

The post stated, So, I’m more of a casual Cowboys fan (from the UK) When I started understanding NFL the Cowboys were the team I picked to follow as they were the first team I picked to follow as were the first team I watched live back in 2012? After doing some reading about the team and keeping up watching the games, I’ve noticed that despite not winning a Super Bowl since 96, they seem to be hated by nearly every other fan. Could someone shed some light on why this is?”

Even a Twitter share by JPA Football says that the Cowboys have the most disliked fanbase in the league, followed by the Browns and Eagles. Contrary to that, the Colts are the most adored team by the fans, with the 49ers and Buccaneers next.

This season appeared to be a little tiresome for the Cowboys. Previously, it was because of Trey Lance and now it’s about gaining the hearts of fans. Let’s take a detailed look at Lance’s circumstances revolving around this season.

Trey Lance’s trade attempt

The Dallas Cowboys acquired star quarterback Trey Lance for a fourth-round pick in 2024. The 49ers HC doesn’t want to take any risk because of the player’s ankle injury, and according to him, things were not working out.

As the QB joined forces with this new squad, various hands were raised against the team’s GM, Jerry Jones, because of his spontaneous decision and Dak Prescott’s position. While clearing his views, he said that he is the team’s GM and has the authority to make the trade. Moreover, head coach McCarthy had no issue with the trade and even claimed to like him as a quarterback.

Furthermore, Jones cleared everything up by saying that it has nothing to do with Prescott and that he’ll agree to do whatever it takes to improve the team’s quality.

No matter what, it is clear that Trey Lance’s amalgamation with the team has captured enough attention for all eyes to be fixated on him. Moreover, the Dallas Cowboys are one of the strongest teams in the league, so titles are an expectation.
