“No Dignity Left”: Colin Kaepernick Once Strongly Spoke About Players’ Unfair Treatment at the Highest Level of American Sports

Very few athletes choose the path that Colin Kaepernick has taken. While most ex-NFL players prefer to transition into business, Kaepernick went on to devote himself to the betterment of society. However, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback’s approach has not always been reciprocated in the manner he imagined. Kaepernick has been subject to a ton of criticism and hate due to some of his ‘unique’ takes on modern society, but his dedication to serving his community is downright commendable. In one of the series, released last year, the former QB opened up about the unfair treatment of athletes.
Colin Kaepernick went on to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Know Your Rights campaign, as it helps to transform youths in LA for the past 7 years. A recent controversial remark made by Kaepernick during his 6-episode limited series, ‘Colin in Black & White’ has somehow caused a massive uproar within the NFL community.

His next comments take a direct jab at the NFL combine, “Before they put you on the field, teams poke, prod and examine you searching for any defect that might affect your performance,”
While the next statements transition to issues concerning equality and dignity, “No boundary respect. No dignity left intact.” The scene that follows this sequence goes back to America’s slavery era, drawing straight-up comparisons between those atrocities and the current NFL Combine procedures.
Kaepernick’s take has managed to divide the NFL world into two separate factions. While one group believes that there is some truth to his statements, another vehemently disagrees.
Kaepernick spent half a decade crying that NFL teams wouldn’t give him a shot and now he’s decided that actually being an NFL player is like being a slave.

Some even went on to deem Kaepernick’s statements downright offensive, stating that there is free will that acts with the NFL as opposed to the horrendous slavery culture.

Bending the knee
Colin Kaepernick has always been an opinionated individual. But it was back in 2016 when Kaepernick raised eyebrows, first by sitting during the playing of the national anthem and later by kneeling when the song was played.
When asked about his actions, Kaepernick replied, “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football,”

Soon his teammate Eric Reid joined Colin, bringing more gravitas to his cause. As the years went by people have begun appreciating Kaepernick, but there are others who find him nothing less of an ‘attention seeker’.
