“No Thanks, We’re Good”: Tom Brady Revealed His True Feelings About Leaving New England By Comparing Himself With Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky

Tom Brady is the GOAT in NFL and there is no doubt about it. When he joined the Buccaneers in 2020, he put his legacy and greatness on display. He took the Buccaneers from not making a single playoff appearance from 2007 to winning the Super Bowl LV in 2020. However, the legend revealed that one team passed on signing him in free agency after his Patriots stint.

Brady explained that after playing for the New England Patriots, he made himself available for a new contract. But one team passed on the opportunity to sign him. At that moment, TB12 made it his life’s mission to show the unnamed team, what they were missing out on. As a result, he led the Buccaneers to a historic Lombardi trophy triumph.

In addition, the 7x Super Bowl-winning champion drew an analogy on making himself available for a contract. He remarked that it will be a no-brainer if teams get a chance to sign the ice hockey legend, Wayne Gretzky; or they can get a chance to sign Michael Jordan. The GOAT compared himself to the two legends. He iterated that not signing him is like missing an opportunity to get Jordan or Gretzky.

Further, he opened up about what the team said after they passed on signing him. The 44-year-old does not name the team but reveals that the team said, “Ahh, we don’t need him. No thanks, we’re good.”

How did Tom Brady become determined to prove the point of his greatness?

After the GOAT got an opportunity with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he reaffirmed that he is going to use his skills and win the championship. He said, “In my mind, I’m kind of thinking, okay, let me go show those teams what they’re missing.”
