After a year on the sidelines, Odell Beckham Jr. has found a new home. He is headed to Baltimore to give the Ravens a big weapon in the offense. But he is returning after more than a year without playing elite football. So questions about his health and injury status are bound to come up in any fan’s mind. Before the $18 million move, here is a checkup on the ACL injury that cost the explosive wide receiver a Super Bowl MVP trophy.

Odell Beckham Jr.’s injury status

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Odell Beckham Jr. had hurt his knee even before the Super Bowl LVI game. He is now coming back into the NFL, a year after that injury, fully healthy. So the Ravens have got a healthy and effective weapon to tear down the opposing defenses.

“His ACL was not fully healthy [during the Super Bowl]. Obviously, he tore it, but it wasn’t healthy before that. More than a year removed from ACL surgery, his knee is healthier now than it’s been in quite some time. [The Ravens are] getting a very good and very healthy player,” Rapoport said on the ‘Pat McAfee Show’.

The Rams lost OBJ just in the second quarter of the game to an ACL injury. Before going off, the wide receiver had shown his moments of brilliance, catching two out of three targets for a whopping 52 yards. That included a 17-yard touchdown pass from QB Matthew Stafford. He could have won a Super MVP trophy if he had stayed. Can he turn up for the Ravens?

OBJ signed a one-year deal with the Ravens worth a whopping $18 million. Out of that amount, a staggering $15 million comes in the form of guaranteed money. A mouthwatering deal indeed.

All eyes will be on the Lamar Jackson-OBJ partnership in the Ravens offense if the QB decides against going to another team. He reacted positively to the signing of the wide receiver. That has surely given some sense of hope to the Ravens nation. How deep can the duo take the Ravens if they do play together in the upcoming season?
